Can't wait

So, I ordered some super fabulous stuff from the Stella and Dot party on Tuesday, and I got an email this morning that said it has already shipped!!! And the hubs and I are going on a date Saturday night, so it should get here just in time! Woot!!!

Here are a couple of things I bought...

Aren't they awesome!!?? Anyway, the girls and I are having a pajama day... however we're venturing out to the grocery store. I think it will be okay for them to show their pjs to the world, but I'm changing... just for the record.

Wish list

So, here's my mama wardrobe wishlist for today... these would look super cute with my red heels (still looking for my photo)... I'll keep you posted!

Okay, so those aren't the red heels (obviously) but they are my favorite shoes I got for christmas!! *thanks, mom**

Pageant crazys

So, I've been on a bit of a tv kick today... which is very unusal for me and makes me feel a bit lazy, but I don't allow myself to sit down very often during the day, so oh well... anyway, I did sit down and watch "Hoarders" this morning before the kids got up (well, the oldest got up during the show) and oh my stars, it makes me so sad! These people have real issues and I honestly do not understand how it gets that bad before something happens!!! I mean, how do you go from , "well, I probably should straighten up" to "I can't make it through my house"... I mean, at what point do you just start shutting doors and sleeping in the living room because all of your bedrooms are full of junk!? I don't understand!!! Anyway, the episode on this morning was a bit humorous because the wife had given the husband an ultimatum... either get your stuff cleaned up or get out... because HE was the hoarder, not her! However, they got into cleaning and he had filled up 3 giant dumpsters of stuff (we're talking 1-800-gotjunk dumpsters) and she was still going through one box of papers in the living room! Um... hello, you are the hoarder!!! Anyway, they got started and eventually I think she recognized that she was as much to blame as her hubby.
THEN, as if it couldn't get any worse, I turn on "Little Miss Perfect" I have to watch this while the hubs isn't here because he goes absolutely nuts when he sees it on... I mean, like, wanting to call authorities about this nonsense. These people are seriously crazy! They have some denture looking gizmo in this kid's mouth that looks like it would fit a horse! I mean, the kid looked ridiculous!!! She could barely even close her mouth over the thing!!! So, may I just take a moment and let you all know that I have officially filled my head with so much garbage today that I'm sure to burst...
I also must confess that I have to register the kiddos for mom's day out this afternoon which means that I have to sit in line for a crazy long time... and here's the confession... I'm actually looking forward to it!
I've got my kindle all fired up (did I mention it's the best present ever!?) and I'm calling this my me time! Then I'm headed to my Stella and Dot fix for the week... *note my bib necklace that's calling my name in a previous post*... I'll keep you updated on the purchase(s) from tonight!
For now....

Changes...

After making the switch from having a housekeeper once every other week, I asked her to lower her price and clean for me once a week. I actually felt a bit proud of myself for taking the opportunity to ask her to work with me. I was having a playdate with some friends in the neighborhood and my friend informed me that she had a lady cleaning her WHOLE house for $75 every week!!! Whoa mama! That's almost half what I'm paying for my first floor!!! However, I really like the girl that cleans my house, and she's been cleaning for me for over 4 years... so I really didn't want to change from her. But, I'm having a hard time keeping up with everything now that I have sweet #3 in my life. I really just needed some extra help, so I thought moving from every two weeks to once a week would be very helpful. I asked her if she could work with me, and she agreed... so she's going to keep everything looking spiffy and I'm paying less... win/win if you ask me!!!
Anyway, with that being said, I'm really going to try to do my best to put dinner on the table every night (except Wednesdays) and I hope that it's usually a little bit healthy.
So, here's the menu for the week:
Monday: Chicken and dumplings with green beans (the girls won't eat dumplings, so I'll fix them something else)
Tuesday: Ok... I'm breaking my rule already, but I have to register the girls for mdo next year and won't be home... so I'm going to leave the family with sandwiches for dinner... but still dinner at home ... no eating out.
Wednesday: we go out before church... not sure what is on the menu this week
Thursday: chili (between ballet and bunco)
Friday: soup and salad (chicken corn chowder)
Saturday: I think we may go on a date (I know, eating out again) but we aren't sure yet

What I'm reading:
I got a kindle for Christmas, seriously, one of my favorite gifts EVER!!! So, I'm reading The Help by Katherine Stockett.... love it so far!

That's about all I have for today, but first I have to tell you about a ginormous hispanic cross dresser I encountered at the mall Saturday night. We had gone to celebrate girlie #1's outstanding job with her first week of responsibilities and have a small chic fil a ice cream cone, and here comes a (no joke) 6'3" man in a teeny tiny dress with 4" heels on and bleached blonde hair... complete with enough makeup to embarrass a hooker!
It was hysterical!!! Then he looked surprised that everyone was staring at him!!! Seriously, if you leave the house looking like that, expect people to stare! End of discussion. I wish I had a picture to show, but he looked really mean!

Beginning anew

So, I've blogged before, but it's always about the kids. Let's face it... there's only so much to talk about when you're chasing around a bunch of ankle biters. Don't get me wrong, I love it, and I wouldn't trade it for anything, but I do realize that not everyone wants to hear about it! And with good reason. Who wants to talk (read) about how many dirty diapers have been changed and how long it took to clean up the playroom!?

Moving on, I hope to use this medium to discuss other things like the latest Mama styles I dream of and interiors to die for. I may also throw in a few recipe ideas along the way. I'm not sure where this will take me, but I hope to use it as an outlet to feel a bit of connection with the outside world and talk about things outside of these walls.

I am sort of new into the blog world and I have found a few that I absolutely adore... I know this one won't have near the following (and that's fine since I can't imagine updating as frequently or having as much to say) but I do hope that some people will read and find interesting the random things that I have going on.

Mission Organization:

So, I have decided that it's time to clean out and sell the junk! Every now and then I realize that I've been storing things for absolutely no reason other than the fact that whatever it is shouldn't be thrown away. For instance, I have a bunch of baby junk that I didn't like or got duplicates of when we had our first child. Why I kept (and moved) those things I will never understand, but it's time to part with them. Most of the things are of little value to me (or I wouldn't get rid of them) but will sere very useful to someone else. I am, however, having a tough time parting with some of the clothing I've had for eons! I'm not sure why this is since I haven't worn (or fit into) them in years and they are totally out of style. I guess I just see it as a perfectly fine garment even though it is not necessary to hold on to. But, the time has come. I'm getting rid of anything I haven't worn in over a year!!! There, I said it!!! It's time to move on!

I do need some help in the organization department, however... my main problem is staying on top of the mountain of clothes the girls outgrow every few weeks. The youngest (5 months) seems to outgrow something about once a week, and I can't keep up with the closet! I don't know what sort of system I need to employ in order to keep this in check. Should I just put a bin in the closet and throw stuff into it? Then once it's full, pull everything back out and organize according to size? I think that's the goal in my head, but I haven't been very good at keeping up with it. Should I put one in the laundry room and put clean, but outgrown clothes in it when I'm doing the laundry... then sort when it gets full? How do I store the holiday clothing so that we don't miss it when the next high heeled girly comes along? There are just so many clothes, and I don't know how to keep up!!! Someone help!!!

Meal planning:

I try to plan my meals once a week and grocery shop only once. With three little ones (under the age of 4) who has time to shop more than that!? So, I will admit that this week's menu has yet to be planned. I haven't sat down with the mister yet to find out what his schedule looks like. That is usually the goal. I ask him what his work schedule looks like and then we plan from there. The kids don't really eat much of what we do yet (I'm working on it), so if he isn't home in time for dinner, we usually just do sandwiches or chicken nuggets....

And we eat out on Wednesdays... always...

So, there you have it... a big fat nothing on the menu so far.

Mom style:

I do want to leave this post with one bit of mom style that I'm lusting after...

I haven't bought many clothes lately (in fact, nothing in the new year) since I'm working ever so diligently, to lose weight (again), but I do have my eye on a few things. I am loving accessories right now because I know they won't go to waste when I get back into a different size... so here's one on my wishlist... who wouldn't look great with that beauty around their neck!?
